Mary C. Witkowski, (Kollar) 88 years old, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019. She was born August 12, 1930, in Hamtramck, Michigan to the late William B. and Anna (Hreha) Kollar. She married the late Vincent Witkowski, Jr. on September 9, 1950. They moved to St. Clair Shores in 1954. She was a long-time member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Loving mother to Vincent Witkowski, III (Judy), Yvonne Wilt (the late Timothy), Jeffrey William Witkowski, Joan Mary Roskelly (Randy), David Michael Witkowski (Tricia), and Laurie Ann Teofilia (Kevin) Krim . Adoring Grandma to Jennifer Wilt, Timothy Wilt, Jr., Selena Sachse (Adam), Daniel Wilt, Vincent Witkowski, IV, Adriane Witkowski, the late Warren Shawhan (MarTenya), David Witkowski, Jr., Stephanie Roskelly, Savanna Krim, and Andrew Roskelly. Affectionate G.G. to DeShawn Sachse, Abigail Sachse, Timothy Wilt, III, Abigail Witkowski, and Isabella Sachse.
She loved tending her gardens, especially her many gorgeous rosebushes. She was a very well-loved server at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial for many years, and a long-time Avon Representative, winning many Mrs. Albee President Club awards. She was passionate about baking, making pierogis, and playing games and doing puzzles with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona and especially to Las Vegas and playing the slots. She was a talented cake decorator specializing in wedding and birthday cakes. She loved making crafts and selling them at craft shows. Most of all Mary loved spending time with her family partaking and instilling the family Slovak and Polish holiday traditions.
Mary was predeceased by her sisters Thresa Kolesar and Margaret Krinock-Bels. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. She is also survived by her six children, one of whom was her favorite. The other five know who that is.
Visitation, Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores with a rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass, Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:00 am (Instate 9:30 am) at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
