Melzie, my heart hurts. It's been a month since you left us and my heart still hurts just as much if not more as the reality of you not being around sinks in more every day.  The last words I said to you were *Goodnight Melzie xoxo* so I'm so glad I got to tell you goodnight but I'm just still so incredibly sad and distraught that you didn't wake up. 

I was SO happy to be coming home to spend alot of time together...when I pictured being back here in MI, I pictured you here at the double oven baking cookies with us. I miss your stories,I miss your warm smile and I miss your dirty looks. :) I miss your saracsim, I miss texting you, I miss how I could tell you anything, I miss your laughter and mischevious grin, I miss us being the *4* of us...to me kimberlymelaniestephen is just one word and I say it now and catch myself and my heart sinks... and I really miss your family bulletins..and just so you know, there has been alot of really good material for you to report on. :-) 

I don't want to say goodbye. My heart has a huge hole in it Mel. I know you are with Mom and Reggie and that gives me a little peace. Tell Mom how much we miss her ok?  I really miss you..I feel a little lost...you will always be with me, kim and stephen in spirit....but nothing will ever be the same without you with us. We all feel it.  Watch over us ok? It's still so hard to believe.  Melanie you were such a big part of your family and many other families.  Thank you for leaving so many good memories!  Sending hugs and prayers to the families!

I miss you everyday and every moment I have to myself at the house...all of the sudden it all seems so quiet.  Don't worry though because CoCo and I haven't been slacking on any True Blood viewing, she is in good hands...I promise. I love you with all my heart and find myself constantly thinking about your one of kind laugh and shining smile.  I don't think I really knew how huge a role you played in my life, I mean I always knew but now that all I have are memories...I am just so grateful to have had you in my life because I would not be the person I am today without you.

After Melanie and I bought the house together, we used to joke about how we were going to be in our 90's and still be living together (with about 72 cats and 14 dogs – all Melanie's, of course).  We'd joke that I'd probably get married a couple of times, but outlive my numerous husbands (mostly driving them all to the brink of insanity) and we'd end up back together in our final old, old years.  That was the way we both saw it happening.  That was our plan.  It was never even a question, really.  We'd take care of each other as much as possible and then when we couldn't do that anymore, Kate, Kelley and Kristen would take care of the two of us.  That isn't the plan anymore.  Aside from my three girls, Melanie is the most important person in my life.  She means everything to me and my life will never, ever be the same without her.

My dear friend Melaine, I refuse to believe your are gone. You were always there for me, when I needed a friend. I will miss you dearly and will always remember you, I will especially miss our weekly, light hearted, fun filled conversations on your drive in to work. I became acquainted with Melanie only recently through Click On Detroit and through email. We were becoming real buddies and when we did talk on the phone, it was her playful attitude and that fantastic laugh that I will remember. My heart is heavy and I will greatly miss seeing Mel and Coco every morning.  We worked together and shared the same job.  I enjoyed having lunch with her everyday and sharing our life stories together. We had alot of good laugh's. It is not the same here and I will miss her greatly!
