Michael enlisted in the United States Navy, serving our country with honor and dignity. After his time in the Navy he went on to work as a postal carrier for the St. Clair Shores United States Post Office for many years. Throughout his life, he carried himself with a steady sense of devotion and purpose—hard-working in all he undertook, kind-hearted in the ways that mattered most, and wise in the quiet guidance he offered to those around him.
Michael was the beloved husband of 32 years to the late Linda Dupke. He was the loving father to Gregory (Wendy) Dupke, Christine (Christopher) Moore, and Denise (Christopher) Garon. He was a cherished grandfather to Ryan Dupke, Alexia Thompson, Christopher Moore, Nicholas Garon, Natalie Garon, and Alissa Garon. He was the dear brother to Sandra (the late Jerry) Jason and Jerry (Linda) Dupke. Michael will be missed by all those who knew him well.
In his personal time, Michael found comfort and enjoyment in simple routines and familiar company. He loved riding his father's stationary bike, and he loved all sports. He also enjoyed spending time at the Amvets with his military buddies, sharing conversation and a few drinks. Michael was a true lover of music. He absolutely loved Brian Wilson/Beach Boys. Above all, he loved his family and friends, and his presence will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm, at The Amvets Post 121, 22427 E. 9 Mile Road, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48080.
Michael will be laid to rest with his wife Linda at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
