Born 04/30/1947, died 07/09/2018 after a long illness.
Mike is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of 47 years, and beloved sons, Michael (Christine) and Eric. He is also survived by his brothers Clayton John (Edna) Neil, and Matthew (Judy) Neil, sister Dorothy Gamble, and many nieces and nephews (and doggie, Daisy). Mike was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Coleman Neil, father, Clayton John Neil, and sister, Laurie Bandish.
Mike a carpenter by trade, was loved by many neighbors and friends. He was so proud of his boys, whom he followed through baseball, football, and especially wrestling, never missing an event, and was an honorary coach in many of those sports. Always an outstanding athlete, in his younger years Mike
was an Olympic class swimmer (and captain of his Wayne State swim team), softball player, and later a catamaran enthusiast on Lake St. Clair and Black Lake.
His happiest days were spent with the family Up North at Black Lake. Having spent his summers there as
a child with his grandparents, he lived his dream and built a vacation home there and we all had great times with good friends and family. He will be sorely missed by so many.
