Michael David Pietrzak

Michael David Pietrzak, age 69, of St. Clair Shores passed away at his home on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Born on November 6, 1952 at St. Francis Hospital in Hamtramck, Michigan to the proud parents Joseph and Rose Pietrzak. Michael served as a Detroit police officer for 26 years, retiring in July of 1999. Followed as a campus safety officer at Baker College in Clinton Twp. for 18 years where he then retired on May 12, 2022. Michael was with the love of his life Carol Hansen for 24 years. He was the loving step dad to Jason (Amy) Hansen, Kayla Kopke, and Tyler Kopke. Also proud papa to Alana, Julia, and Leo. Dear brother of Patrick (the late Sandra) Pietrzak, Patricia “Cookie” (the late Tom) Pallarito, and Michelle (John) Politis. Also uncle to Brooke, Blake, Robert (Denise), Alex (Lauren), Sara, and J.J.. Also four great-nieces Emily, Elizabeth, Kelsey, and Indigo. Michael loved his animals beyond words. He leaves behind his two feline fur babies: Felix (18 years), Jinx (9 years) and the late Sox (passed at 15 years). Michael enjoyed the simple life of listening to music, sitting in the yard with his cats, and most of all his beloved sports. Michael will truly be missed by family, friends, and pets. Funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, beginning with a gathering at 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. Family will receive friends on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials in memory of Michael are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Fund, Michigan Humane Society, or the ASPCA.
