She was Chuck's devoted wife of 54 years. Loving mother to Kim (Tobin) and Charlie (Elena). Proud grandmother to Trevor, Cameron, Lanagan, and Cooper. Caring aunt to Matt (Sandy), Debbie (Ken), Christie (George), Sandy, and Kelly (Jim). Life-long friend of many from school, work, church, and many clubs. And doting dog-mom to Bixby for the past 18 years.
Millie loved to entertain. She'd dress up as Daisybelle the Clown to perform at schools, nursing homes, and parties. She was the go-to emcee on the dais for many special events and charity auctions. If there was a microphone in the room, it would always find its way into Millie's hand. She was always quick with a joke or a funny story. She loved to hold court around the table and make her friends laugh.
She was the business wiz from her time at Michigan Bell to her many entrepreneurial ventures with Chuck, including Stirups Restaurant and Circle W Antiques in Roscommon. She loved to find a good deal or a hot property. And she couldn't wait to tell you about it.
Ever the competitor, Millie was always up for sports, cards, or family game night. If you wanted to play softball, skiing, croquet, bowling, or have a squirt-gun fight, Millie was at the ready. Shuffle up and deal her in for a round of euchre, pinochle, poker, Wizard or canasta. Get ready to laugh if you're playing Family Feud, Balderdash or charades. Count her in for a trip to the casino or bingo night.
She loved to create. Millie was the author of two children's books – "Eddie the Elf" and "Ester the Easter Egg". She would paint, craft, act, and direct plays. She loved being a drummer in her high school marching band and never missed an opportunity to see a drumline. She fancied herself a "very good dancer" after an appearance on the Bud Davis Dance Party TV show. She was a terrible singer but that never seemed to stop her.
She wanted nothing more than to bring people together, to love them, hug them and make them smile. She loved God and her church.
Millie spent much of the week before Christmas back in the hospital. She was able to spend Christmas Eve with her family. They enjoyed a great feast and played games like old times. Unfortunately, she returned to the hospital on Christmas night and moved to hospice the next day.
Millie was predeceased by her beloved parents, Matthew and Edna Langan, her brother, Matthew, and sister-in-law, Peggy.
