Muriel age 93, a longtime resident of Saint Clair Shores, died November 20, 2025. She was born November 24, 1931 in Laurium to George and Viola Haley. Mrs. Hinz earned her Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Wayne State University in 1953. Muriel was a elementary school teacher (1st and 2nd grades) in Roseville for many years and enjoyed her retirement doing backyard gardening, reading mystery novels and solving daily crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her sons, Mark (Cheryl) of Forest Grove, OR and Scott (Lynn Katz) of Austin, TX; grandsons Jared Hinz, Austin Hinz, Ethan Hinz and Jacob Hinz; and nieces, Cynthia Loftin, Adreinne Loftin, Melinda Loftin, Karen Hudson and Sheryl Jaworowski.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles Harold Hinz in 2016; her infant daughter Lisa Ann; her brother George Keith (late Sandra Lee) Haley and sister Patricia (late Iverson) Loftin.
