

Norl McKanna, 92, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida, passed away on January 26, 2024. Born on March 3, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, Norl was a dedicated Metal Model Maker at General Motors Tech Center in Warren, Michigan, until his retirement at age 55 in 1986.
Norl was known for his meticulous nature and his ability to plan ahead. He was always prepared and had a do-it-yourself approach to life. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in Florida and the newest electronic gadgets. After retiring, Norl spent his golden years (25+) in Bradenton, Florida, going on walks with his wife Peggy, while enjoying the great restaurants and warm weather.
Norl is survived by his daughter, Cindy Damm (Kevin), as well as his granddaughter, Lindsay Kobus (Johnny). He was preceded in death by the love-of-his-life, Peggy McKanna (Ludwick) who he met in middle school and who shared his love of the Indy 500, the Lions, and the Red Wings.
Norl McKanna will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His dedication to his career and his passion for fishing and race cars will be remembered fondly. May he rest in peace with Peggy by his side once again.
