Patricia Flanagan, daughter of Nicholas and Helen Frantell, granddaughter of Robert and Katherine Czosek, died on March 26, 2018 at Shore Point Hospice after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Chicago on August 6th 1928, she attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic School and Providence High School. During World War II, Pat met 17-year-old Seaman Recruit John J. Flanagan, Jr. On May 31, 1947 Pat and John were married at Our Lady of Grace Church in Chicago. The first four of their seven children were born in Chicago. In 1956, Johnny’s job with CIT Corporation took them to the Detroit area. In the years that followed three more children were to be born in Michigan. While raising her children Pat had a very successful career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. She was preceded in death by John in 1993, and son Thomas in 2017. She is survived by her sons John with Susan Will, Robert and Debbie Flanagan, Terrence and Bronna Flanagan; and daughters Katherine Flanagan, Mary FlanaganMata and Sergio Mata, Patricia and John Dzbanski, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4-9pm and on Thursday, March 29 from 11-12pm, with the funeral service following. Patricia will be interred with John at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
