Patricia attended George A. Dondero High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she met her future husband—an early chapter in a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and a thoughtful way of caring for those around her.
Throughout her life, Patricia held various jobs, yet the role she treasured most was being a mother and grandmother. In the everyday moments and lifelong commitments of family life, her kind-hearted nature was felt most clearly, expressed in the constant attention she gave to the people she loved.
Patricia was the beloved wife of 49 years to her late husband Thomas Gauthier. She is the cherished mother of Janna (Tom) Driscoll, Melissa (Eric) Paternoster, and Erin (Cooper) Gauthier-Hulswit. She was a loving grandmother to Ben, Sam, Madison, and Abby. She was a dear sister to Frances Charters, Sandra Powell, and Robin Douglas. She was sister-in-law to Robert Gauthier, Vivian (Wally) Klaus, and Diana (Brian) Boeving. Patricia will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and all those who loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings James McClintock and Lynn Powell.
Patricia found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life. She loved to knit and crochet, and she cherished traveling with her husband and family—camping and fishing, whether by tent or in a motorhome. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids, and her home was made warmer by her love of dogs, particularly her dog Rusty. Patricia also never missed an opportunity to catch up on her favorite television shows, enjoying a good mystery and mayhem—most often *Murder, She Wrote*.
Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, beginning with a gathering from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a service at 6:00 pm, at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
