Her loving husband, Lucas (Ray) predeceased her in death, 2008.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Carla Noble and her husband Rob, Rhonda Yetter, and Renee Lanzon and her husband Craig. She was a loving grandmother to all 10 of her grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Grant and Hailey Noble, Celeste, Blake, and Bethany Yetter, and Lucas, Zachary, and Alex Lanzon.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of St Clair Shores, Michigan where she raised her 3 children. She was a proud, supportive mother and a devoted wife for 47 years. Phyllis enjoyed almost 20 years at the children’s department of the Eastland J.C. Penney.
Always available for some chit-chat over a cup of coffee, her amiable spirit shined brightest around the company of family and friends. She had a kindly wisdom with a charming presence--the type of woman to cheer for and console both sides of a competition. In triumph or tribulation, Phyllis would be right there, through it all, ready with the compassion only gifted grandmothers know. She lived out a rare, practical morality: doing today what could be done tomorrow, acting only upon that which can be changed, and always offering mutual respect.
A classic-hearted woman, she adored Golden Age Hollywood films, and easy listening music. Mention any film with Rock Hudson, Robert Redford, or Paul Newman and she would approve with a scowling nod, as if to denounce everything besides their magnificence. Particular of her tastes, she had the sacred-midwestern knack for finding virtue in modesty.
Later in her marriage, she made a tradition of driving up the east coast in a summer haze with no defined destination, and that's how we’d like to remember her: Getting love-drunk, lost in the New England seaside with her silver fox, Ray.
We love you, Grandma.
