Phyllis Marie Labadie

Phyllis Marie Labadie, age 84, passed away on September 25, 2026. Born on September 11, 1942, to parents James and Eleanor Labadie. Phyllis lived with steady grace and purpose, leaving behind a legacy defined by deep faith, and a genuine love for family. She was a life-long resident of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan. Where her family proudly began their story.

Phyllis attended and graduated from South Lake High School, carrying forward a lifelong respect for learning and the thoughtful order it brings. In her working years, she served for many years as a Law Librarian before retirement—work that reflected her diligence, care, and wisdom, and the steady reliability on which others could depend.

A kind-hearted and compassionate presence in the lives of those around her, Phyllis found her greatest joy in family. Known as Bug, she is the cherished aunt to Edward (Dina) Jablonski and Marianne (Steve) Bassett, and Great Aunt to Jarrett (Fiancee' Maddie) Bassett, Michael Jablonski, Cole Bassett, and Melissa Jablonski. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and loving sister Carolyn (the late Edward) Jablonski. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Faith was at the center of Phyllis’s life. Very religious at heart, she carried herself with a steady devotion that offered comfort and example to others. She loved spending time with family and took special delight in spoiling the great nieces and nephews. In the everyday rhythms of life, she also enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her fellow residents at the Pines senior living center (where she spent her last year)—simple moments made meaningful by her whimsical spirit and willingness to go on an adventure.

Memorial donations in memory of Phyllis are suggested to the American Heart Association.
