Richard Edward Coatney, age 80, passed away on January 9, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gloria; loving children: Aaron, Chad (Christine), Jennifer (Robert) Fraser, Deborah; dear grandchildren: Joseph, Theo, Rachel, Jade (Ariel), Grayson, Anna; and 7 great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Edwin. He was above all other things a family man. Richard was an avid sports fan, an Usher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and was very involved in the dad’s club at South Lake High School. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Visitation, Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
