Richard A. Kempkens

KEMPKENS, Richard A., age 64. Rick spent his last 43 years in marriage to his lifelong friend and partner Suzanne (Kirby). She meant the world to him and it was quite obvious. He was a proud father of Richard (Mariah), Robert, Ryan (Joy) and Stephanie Steinberger (Jeff) devoting countless hours coaching, instructing and watching all their sports and school activities. His life was fulfilled with the addition of his grandchildren; Ariel, Seven, Brayden, Fallyn and Shelby Grace. He loved every one of them and you could see him beam when he would share cute stories about them. Dear son of Frank and Eleanor Kempkens. Brother of Kenneth (Josephine) and the late Douglas (Sharon). Many nieces, nephews and countless friends. In 2012 he retired from Comerica Bank after a 37 year career in consumer loans. He spent much of this time with his friends camping in Davison and playing golf. Visitation Sunday 3-9 p.m. at the Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores. In state Monday 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., the time of the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Hope Church, St. Gertrude Campus, St. Clair Shores. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery. – Holly.
