Richard Kummerl, age 76, passed away on September 12, 2011. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Patricia (née Holland), to whom he was married for 54 years; his loving children Kim (Jerry) Buckman, Carrie Kummerl (Andy Prodin) and Tina (Jason) Wolz and grandchildren Robin Buckman, Richard (Michelle) Buckman, Bryson Wolz and Brady Wolz. He is predeceased by his daughter Susan Firestein and grandson Jeremy Kummerl. Richard was a “tin can sailor,” a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2 – 9 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Richard will lie in-state Thursday from 10:30am until time of mass, 11 am, at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38775 Prentiss St. Harrison Twp.
