Robert Joseph Petix was born in Detroit, MI on Feb. 21, 1938. He was the oldest (& favorite - bc the oldest is always the favorite) of 6 children born to Samuel and Agatha Petix. He met pretty little Eileen LeZotte on a blind date and was hooked! They were married on July 28, 1962.
Bob began his working career as a banker and rose to the position of Senior Vice President of Michigan National Bank. He later left the banking industry and began the enterprise of video store ownership and boat captaining. He also partnered with his son Michael and assisted with marine transport.
In the summers, Bob and his family often enjoyed boating and spent many vacations in Georgian Bay. In the winter they were avid snowmobilers. Bob could also cook up a mean plate of seafood pasta and was known to be able to build or fix anything - snowmobiles, boat engines, wood working and even adding an addition on the house! Bob’s biggest passion, however, was his family!!! He and Eileen were blessed with three children: Linda, Michael, and Melissa. Later their family grew to include Linda’s husband, Jeff Minard, and their 5 children: Nick, Maddie, Jake, Grace and Lani, along with special friend Junior. Michael is with Nikki Grama and her son, Jonathon. Melissa and her husband, Bruce Skean, have Bob’s newest granddaughter, Eliza.
And as Bob’s family grew, so did the craziness but “Geepa” as his grandchildren called him, loved it. Together Bob & Eileen, married over 55 years, have created a lasting legacy of love & family which will transcend time and his family look forward to seeing him in heaven!
