It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacob Andrew Patrick Guay, who left us far too soon at the age of 20. Born on March 4, 2005, Jacob was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
From a young age, Jacob found peace and adventure in the outdoors. Whether camping with family, exploring trails on the four-wheeler, boating on the water, or simply sitting by a crackling fire with family and friends, he was truly in his element. Jacob's adventurous spirit also extended to the table. He loved trying weird and exotic foods, always eager to experience new flavours and cultures. His passion for exploration continued in the vast virtual worlds of video games and online gaming, strategizing with his teammates or sharing laughs over late-night gaming sessions. He knew how to find joy in every moment. Also a dedicated student with aspirations of becoming a carpenter, Jacob took great pride in his work and looked forward to a future of building and constructing with his own two hands.
Those who knew Jacob will remember his infectious laugh, kind heart, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He had a way of making every moment an adventure, filling the lives of those around him with joy and excitement. He is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Nancy Lyn Morin (Kris De Pauw); father, Mario Guay (Noella Robert); siblings, Bella, Nicholas, Jeremy, and Kariane; Grandparents, Andre and Monique Morin, and Helene Guay; Uncle, Patrick Morin (Shannon McClure); Great-Aunt Suzanne Gagne; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will cherish his memory forever. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime.
A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held on Friday, March 28th from 18:00-21:00 and Saturday, March 29th from 10:00-13:00 at Les Salons Funéraires Guay (146 rue Saint-Louis, Saint-Eustache, QC J7R 1Y2), where friends and family can come together to share stories, honour his memory, and find comfort in one another. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Terry Fox Foundation (terryfox.org) in Jacob’s name. The Terry Fox Foundation will be conducting research to understand why Jacob's treatment was unsuccessful, with the hope of helping others in the future.
Rest in peace, Jacob, and may you always respawn in our memories.
