Dear Mr. DeMartini:  Just wanted to let you know how much you live in the hearts of your loved ones.  Your darling daughter Gina was able to feel your love during the holidays but she missed you none the less.  You've left behind such a wonderful legacy, almost an outline on how to be a great Father, husband and friend.  I know you are in heaven and that you are free from pain. You are missed.

I was so saddened to hear of Norms passing he was one great man! I have not had contact with Norm in over 30 years but he left a lasting impression that stayed with you. Since the day I met you I have always felt at ease and at home around you.  I felt genuinely welcomed into the family.  Norm, you and I seemed to be kindred spirits, sharing a lot of the same interests.  I will miss you dearly and will never forget your kindness.

Norm, I am so sad you had to leave but I'm happy that you're no longer in any pain or discomfort.  I will miss you so much.  You and Jan have been in my life since I was a little kid and you're both so special to me.   What I'll remember most about you is your beautiful smile and twinkly eyes. The fondest memories I have of my uncle are; He and my father were always close even after my parents split up. I always looked forward to seeing him and the cousins at every family gathering we were at together.
 I was, and am proud that I got to refer, and call him an uncle. I am not even sure he was an uncle, but I always thought of him as one. I, like my father James am going to miss him, a-lot!  He was, and is a great man and now heaven is a better and safer place because he is there. 
No amount of consoling will make this time any easier on any of us. You just need to know that he will be missed. He does live on in our hearts and in our dreams. We may not be able to touch him, but I know he will never be far away. I on behalf of my father, offer my deepest sympathies at this very trying time. He will always be very close to my heart. He was, and is the best and now you, and him are in my daily prayers. He will never be forgotten and I know he will be missed.

I didn't know your father, other than through the stories we would share back and forth during our times together.
Through you words,I remember him as a strong man.  One who liked riding motorcycles and shared his life with the love of his life.  He was a man uncommon in these days, a man of honor.  The kind of guy you could count on, as a neighbor, as a friend, as a husband and as a very loving father.

I will miss him everyday, he made such a great impact on everyone's life and was an inspiration to us all. My grandpa was a kind hearted man who did great things. He did so much through his life journey and will be remembered for his prideful life. He was always there to reassure me and I am so thankful for his support. When he would talk you it felt like he put his heart into the conversation and was filled with wisdom. He was truly a wonderful man and I am lucky to have a grandpa like him and  to have had him in my life. There are no words great enough to explain my grandfather but he will always be in my heart.

Lt. Solari, always took the time to speak with you, share a story or give sage advice.  The most professional and kindest person I met in our Office.  Sincere sympathy and prayers to Lisa and entire family.

Lisa and Family, I was really sorry to learn your dad had passed away. He was my supervisor over twenty yrs. ago before my career began at the Forensic Laboratory. We are so saddened to hear of Norms passing. He was not only a loved relative but a dear friend. You could not find a better person to be of public service. 30 years of dedication speaks volumes of the kind of person Norm was. I can only imagine the lives he touched along the way. In the 50 yrs I have known him I have never known him to speak negative of anyone.
Once, years ago, I priest said "concentrate on being the kind of person you want to be".
Well, that person is Norm.  The definition of a "Stand Up" guy.
Norm was an inspiration and role model to us all. He will be sorely missed.

He was the ultimate example of a law enforcement professional with honorable values on and off the job.
Norm had a unique variety of interests, knowledge and skills, coupled with a sincere sense of modesty.
We created great memories together while racking up miles on our road trips.

I first met Norm when I worked at Pacifica PD and he was at SSFPD. I got to know him better at SMSO. He was one of those rare individuals who everyone liked and respected, even as he rose thru the ranks. My deepest sympathies go out to you and the rest of your family.

Grandpa, you are the best roll model any child could have had; I was lucky to have the honor of being so close and sharing some very memorable times with you, both at home, and on the road. You taught me to be as tasteful as I could be. You taught me to be patient, just, and respectful/ aware of those around me. You instilled in me the love of three things that I could/would not live without seeking in-depth: Music, food, and nature. These three things alone have brought more clarity to my life than any other. I miss you grandpa, and I would love nothing more than to walk in your direction.

How do I say good-bye to a person who meant so much to me, and so many others. It was so great to be with you in Texas this winter and now it seems so long ago. 
In all the times we spent together you taught me the true meaning of friendship and integrity.  It was your advice and mentoring that helped me get my first job in law enforcement. Thank you for that. I have spent the last few days reading the great advice you gave so many folks on several car/motorcycle forums as always using your great common sense and knowledge of mechanics and electronics to help people you didn't even know.
I can't even imagine my life right now with Norm Solari in it, but I am proud of the way you set an example for all of us in your passing.
You were a great husband, father, grandfather, friend and law enforcement officer. May your family be comforted by the knowledge that your life mattered and that you made so many friends.
