1937-2012
Wesley Owens, born Sept 27, 1937, in St Helena, to Gratton Owens and Pearl Elkins Owens, passed away peacfully on May 20, 2012, in Napa.
He was a third-generation California native. As a child, he lived in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, before settling in California where, for decades, he cultivated the family orchard in Deer Park, Napa Valley.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is survived by aunts, Virginia Owens Wilson and Berdell Owens Cox, and many cousins.
A public visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Chapel (975 Vintage Ave, St Helena, Ca.).
A graveside service will be held Thursday May 31, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the St. Helena Cemetery.
