Jean-Pierre Chicoine

C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de M. Jean-Pierre Chicoine, au CSSS de Memphrémagog, le 14 octobre 2014, entouré des siens, à l’âge de 65 ans. M. Chicoine était le conjoint de Mme Brigitte Rabéjac, demeurant à Eastman.

Diplômé de l’École Polytechnique de Montréal en génie industriel en 1971, M. Chicoine intègre le réseau de la santé du Québec, comme conseiller en génie industriel au CHUL et, peu après, en tant que professeur au Département de médecine sociale et préventive de l'Université Laval. Au début des années 80, il devient directeur général de l’Hôpital Sainte-Justine. En mars 1985, il fonde la firme CGO et en assume la présidence jusqu’en 1995, avant de retourner à Sainte-Justine, de 1995 à 1999, où il crée le Réseau mère-enfant. Il occupe ensuite la fonction de directeur général du CHUS, de 1999 à 2005. Il devient consultant pour CIM, de 2008 à 2010, avant de remplir finalement divers mandats, en tant que consultant autonome en gestion de la santé.

M. Chicoine laisse dans le deuil, outre sa conjointe, Mme Brigitte Rabéjac, ses fils, Pierre-Olivier (Catherine Garand) et Jean-Philippe (Wenwen Liu); la mère de ses enfants, Mme Nicole Potvin; et les enfants de sa conjointe, Justin et Julie Bazoge; ses frères, Robert (Monique St-Onge) et Roland (Marie-Claire Morier), sa sœur, Louise (André Guilbault), ainsi que ses neveux, nièces, autres parents, collègues et amis.

La famille recevra les condoléances à la Résidence funéraire Mongeau, Réseau Dignité, 1115, Girouard Ouest, à St-Hyacinthe, www.dignitequebec.com, le dimanche 26 octobre dès 14 h. Un dernier hommage lui sera rendu à 16 h 00.

La famille désire remercier chaleureusement toute l’équipe des soins palliatifs du CSSS Memphrémagog pour son dévouement exceptionnel. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons peuvent être faits à la Société canadienne du cancer.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jean-Pierre Chicoine, at the CSSS Memphremagog, on October 14, 2014 while surrounded by his family at the age of 65. Mr. Chicoine was the spouse of Brigitte Rabéjac, residing in Eastman.

After graduating from the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal in industrial engineering in 1971, Mr. Chicoine became Industrial Engineering Advisor at the CHUL. Shortly after, he acted as a professor with the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, at Laval University. In the early 80’s, he became CEO of the Sainte-Justine Hospital. In March 1985, he founded CGO and assumed the presidency until 1995 when he returned to Sainte-Justine. There, he created the Quebec Mother-Child Network. He then held the position of CEO at the CHUS, from 1999 to 2005. Finally, he was a consultant for CIM from 2008 to 2010 and has since filled various special assignments as an independent consultant in the field of healthcare management.

Mr. Chicoine is survived, in addition to his spouse Brigitte Rabéjac, by his sons, Pierre-Olivier (Catherine Garand) and Jean-Philippe (Wenwen Liu); the mother of his children, Nicole Potvin; and the children of his spouse, Justin and Julie Bazoge. He also leaves his brothers, Robert (Monique St-Onge) and Roland (Marie-Claire Morier), his sister, Louise (André Guilbault), as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues and friends.

The family will receive condolences and expressions of sympathy at the Mongeau Funeral Home, Dignity Network, 1115 Girouard Ouest, St-Hyacinthe, www.dignitequebec.com on Sunday, October 26, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Relatives and friends may pay their final respects at 4:00 p.m.

The family wishes to sincerely thank all the palliative care team members at the CSSS Memphremagog for their outstanding dedication. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcome.
