So sorry to have missed the visitation.  My sympathies to all.  Alex was indeed a wonderful person whom I admired and respected.  He took a chance on me at Pratt and really helped me set my career path, for that I will always be grateful.  I am so glad we had a last chat before my mom left for Florida.

Dear Chris and Family,
I am so full of sadness and wish to convey my deepest sympathy to all of you. My memories of Alex are those of happy times spent with you at your home, playing table tennis, singing and listening to old songs, having a glass or two, dining at great restaurants together and playing so many golf tournaments as a foursome. I remember Al making us tea and we would have tea with Kasi's cookies while watching golf that we had taped while we were out playing. It was always a joy to visit you both and spend time with your family as well. Hopefully you will gain strength from each other at this very sad time. I'll be thinking of you all.

Mr. Hall was my boss when I started my first summer job working at Pratt & Whitney Canada in the late 1970's. He was a wonderful person, always kind and patient. I'll never forget all of the lifts back and forth to Candiac enabling me to get to work on time without taking the bus. Sincere condolences to Mrs. Hall and family.

Dear Mrs. Hall, Dave, Pauline, Nick, Neil, & the entire Hall/Novosad Family, 

I am sending my heartfelt condolences from across the country to each of you. Though I did not share the blessing of knowing Mr. Hall very well, the love and loyalty you all share has always been evident to me, over many years. 

May you all feel supported through this intense time of sorrow. The death of a loved one is always difficult, without question - and somehow, the loss of our father (husband), grandfather, great-grandfather is monumental. His life mattered so much, his love touched so many, and his legacy will live on for all eternity. 

Here is something I wrote to my father, posthumously. I share it with hopes it brings you some comfort in the honouring of yours. 

It's not the same without you, Dad - the sky still delivers its' magic, the ocean mist results in salty kisses, the flowers bloom, and the birds chirp. The church bells ring and babies cry - the elderly fellow on the park bench longs for someone to stop and say hello. The sun sets spectacularly, and the wind blows a breeze,...and sometimes a storm. 

When we take the time to look around and see life swirling about us, so much appears to be the same as it always was. And though there remains infinite beauty, not having you here has shifted my experience exponentially. Yet, I see you everywhere and in everything. Your signature essence follows me, or surprises me - a little bit of both, to keep me filled with the wonder of all that was, and is... you.

Sincere condolences to Chris and family. Fond memories of our golf outings and social get togethers. Alex will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. May he always remain in our memories.

It was in 1963 that I met Alex at Pratt and Whitney .Over the years I came to know, greatly respect and like him.We enjoyed many a  game of golf.I am saddened by his passing and would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family .

I am so sorry to hear the news of Alex. He was a lovely man and a great friend. Alex and Chris were great golf buddies to many of us and everyone loved being paired with them on the course. I loved our conversations about old times back home, Pratt & Whitney Canada and the demise of the famous Glasgow Rangers!

We were lucky to meet Al and Christina when our son, Trevor married into the Novosad family in December of 2011.  We were invited to their New Years Day celebration the following January.  Al and Christina were both so warm and welcoming and made us feel part of the family immediately. Since then, we saw Al at many family get together.  He was always so warm and charming.  Always had that twinkle in his eye.  Always had great stories to tell.  Don thoroughly enjoyed more than a few tipples of scotch with Al over the past few years.  He will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family at this sad time.  It is never easy to lose a loved one.  Especially one as special as Al.
