Douglas ''Duke'' Jones

t is with sadness but with peace of heart, that the family of Douglas James Jones (Duke) of St. Lambert, Qc, announce he passed away peacefully after a month-long illness. He would have been 93 on February 1st.

Douglas leaves behind a family that he was very proud of. Known as “le grand noir” amongst the many French relatives and cousins in Montreal, the Duke was known for his sense of humour, his sharp wit, incredible memory, his charm and joie de vie. He was known for not holding back on his opinions and had a knack for telling it like it is. He always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. With that said he was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart and yet he sugar coated nothing.

Born in Cobourg, Ontario, he was the one of 10 children. He is survived by Sister Hilda Carpannini (Frank) from Hamilton, Ontario and his 27 nieces and nephews that he cared for deeply, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Duke was fortunate to have two loving women in his life. He was married to the late Madeleine Lortie (36 years) and shared 18 years with his beloved partner Margaret Hamilton. He will be missed by his 3 children, son Stewart (Debbie) and grandkids Christopher (Lara), Jaysen and Sebrina (Ricky), daughter Susan and grandkids Catherine (Tristan) and Vanessa (Anton), daughter Barbara (Philippe) and grandkids, Patrick and Bianca (Duke), as well by his golfing and curling friends.

Douglas laisse derrière lui une famille dont il était très fier. Connu comme "le grand noir" parmi les nombreux parents et cousins ​​français à Montréal, Il était connu pour son sens de l'humour, son esprit vif, la mémoire incroyable, son charme et sa joie de Vie.

Douglas a eu la chance d'avoir deux femmes aimantes dans sa vie. Il était marié à la fin Madeleine Lortie (36 ans) et de partager 18 ans avec sa partenaire bien-aimée Margaret Hamilton. Il sera regretté par ses 3 enfants, fils Stewart (Debbie) et petits-enfants Christopher (Lara), Jaysen et Sebrina (Ricky), fille Susan et petits-enfants Catherine (Tristan) et Vanessa (Anton), et sa fille Barbara (Philippe) et petits-enfants, Patrick et Bianca (Duke), ainsi que par ses amis de golf et curling.

Reception: 80, Av. Lorne. St-Lambert, un goûter sera servi dans la salle de réception du domicile de Margaret Hamilton. Vous y êtes tous invités.
