It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Conway at Charles Lemoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park, Quebec, on March 2, 2016. She leaves to mourn her sisters Phyllis (Norm) and Kathleen (Emmanuel), brother Michael (Micheline), nephews and nieces and their families, as well as many good friends. Helen was predeceased by her mother Ellen Allison and father James Philip Conway and her siblings Allison (Jim), Anne (Ed), Donald (Grace) and Brian (Jacqueline). Helen was a devoted educator, and a former Holy Cross sister who served a number of years in Bangladesh. She moved on to become a math/science consultant on the South Shore of Montreal. She was a kind, generous human being who favored the “underdog”. Helen was a loving sister, a wonderful friend, a lifelong learner, an avid reader, a traveller, a follower of PBS television who enjoyed being always “au courant” and ready to discuss all world news.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 at Collins Clarke MacGillvray White Funeral Home, 307 Riverside Drive, St. Lambert, QC, J4P 1A7, from 10AM until 1 PM, followed by a funeral mass at St. Gabriel’s Parish, 2157 Centre St., Pointe St. Charles, QC, H3K1J5 at 2 PM. At Helen’s request, a memorial service and burial will take place in the spring in Chute a Blondeau, Ontario.
