I  worked indirectly for Alan Skop at Equitable Real Estate in St. Louis and remember him as a very unique and interesting person.   I learned a lot of the practical side of commercial asset management from him and I greatly respected him as a person.  Please accept the my condolences.
PS. I  remember in particular that I had just relocated to St. Louis and when i first met Alan he encouraged me to stay over at the Mansion House - a benefit that our senior management had not planned to offer - so our family still shares a memory of staying [for a month] on the 21st floor where our toddlers looked out at the bustling city.  Thanks to Mr. Skop.

Dear Larry, Sharon and Family,
I worked with Alan at Equitable Real Estate when Alan first moved from Maryland to St. Louis through the mid 1990s.  Alan was a boss like no other; he always had my back and mentored myself and others during that time. His technique may have been sometimes unconventional but Alan was always successful. I remember many serious, good, and fun times and will always be grateful for his direction, assistance and friendship.  My sincere sympathy to the family and I hope the good memories will always sustain you.

I had the pleasure of working with Alan when he was at Equitable. We spent many a day discussing shopping centers, which I think was his favorite property type. He enjoyed the art of making a deal, and I enjoyed working with him. You have our condolences.
