Dear Shirley & Family,
I just read the Oakville Call and saw Art's obituary, I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember all the fun we had working at the consession stand at Buder Park for the model airplane contests and then going back to your house and swimming. My mom and dad (Marge & Jerry Fels) send their condolensces. Art was a very kind and loving person. May he rest in peace and cherish every memory, he will live forever in your hearts.

My thoughts and prayers to Shirley, Kathy, Art Jr. and Cindy and all his grandchildren.  They gave me a job when I needed it, they gave me comfort and friendship when I felt lost. Art was a very special, kind man who touched the hearts and lives of so many people. May God hold him tight in his arms and help his family in thier time of sorrow.

One of my fondest childhood memories was going to St. Louis every summer and visiting Schaefer's Hobby Shop. Dad and Art were good friends and always reminisced about flying model planes. Sincerest condolences Shirley and family. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Schaefer family I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know Art will truly be missed. Your family holds a special place in my heart & I hope you all find peace in this time of sorrow.

My husband Ed and his brother Gary Heisler went to Art's store on Virginia a lot of years.  They loved to build airplane models.  Ed knew Art also in later years at the new store on Gravois.  Both of them have also passed.  They are all together now with their hobbies.  The whole family has my deepest sympathy and condolences.  I will add him to my prayers.  Jeannette Heisler

I'm glad to have had the opportunity to know Art and his family. I enjoyed working for him at Schaefer's on Virginia for many years. He was a very talented soul, and the world will seem a little dimmer with him gone. Art will never be forgotten.

 My thoughts and prayers are with Shirley and the family.  I was a faithful customer on Virginia Ave.  Spent many, many hours with them there.
