For 65 years she shared her life with her beloved husband, Jerome, whom she met at the University of Texas. Barbara was the adored mother of Kathy Fehrnstrom (Eric) and Terry Bader (Kathy), and the cherished and proud grandmother (Nana) of 4 grandchildren: Samuel Bader (Hallie), Jeffrey Bader (Natalie), Bryan Fehrnstrom and Jason Fehrnstrom. She was the loving sister of Leonard Goltzman (Karen) and the daughter of the late Harry and Yetta Goltzman.
Barbara was a proud graduate of Patti Welder High School (’52) in Victoria, Texas and the University of Texas in Austin (’56), where she was voted a “Bluebonnet Bell” as one of the 10 most beautiful freshman on campus. After graduation, she taught English at Crane Middle School in Victoria. In 1958, she married Jerome and moved to St. Louis. When her children began high school she enrolled at Washington University and received a MSW degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work. She established a private counseling practice upon graduation and practiced for 35 years.
Barbara was a consummate mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She played a vital role in her grandchildren’s upbringing and was an inspiration to them until her final days. She will be greatly missed by her adoring family and loving friends.
