DEAR CAROL, IT IS WITH MUCH SADNESS  THAT I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN NOTICED OF YOUR DEAR HUSBAND'S PASSING. HE ALWAYS WELCOMED EVERY PERSON IN HIS PRESENCE. I just heard of Barry's passing and am so sorry for your loss.  I speak of him often and our days on Mission Ct.  It was always such fun running into Barry and Carol and catching up about the family.

The deRiel family is so sad to learn of Barry's passing. What a great father, grandfather, and husband he has been. We even had the St. Louis/Johhn Burroughs connection with him. Our thoughts are with the entire Pessin family each day. With love, Kate and Kim deRiel.

Barry was an amazing person. I enjoyed getting to know him when Carol and him took me in to their home after my living situation became unsafe. I will forever remember their generosity, our time at the pool and our dinners at CJ Muggs. He is a true gentleman! My thoughts and prayers are with Carol and the rest of the Pessin family.

Pessin family - I am deeply saddened to hear about Barry. I hope wonderful memories continue to bring you joy throughout the years. Every time I saw him, he was laughing! I know my dad will miss him dearly.

I am so very sorry to here about Barry's passing. I know he was a wonderful father, husband  and grandfather.   I haven't seen Carol in so long but I have fond memories of our teaching together at Wilson and spending time together outside the classroom.   It is hard to  imagine that your grandchildren are now at Wilson. Thinking of you all knowing that you have each other close by to share the grief and the memories.

When I first met Barry over 15 years ago, I knew immediately that I met a neshamah that was so precious, kind and humble---it was without comparison. Barry was the consummate mensch and I was honored that he would call me "my rabbi"  each time we talked. He loved his family and had a great love of Judaism and the Jewish community of St. Louis. I know that I am blessed to have known Barry and I have become a better person because of him.  He was such a remarkable man and I will miss him dearly.

Although we haven't been in touch for years, once upon a time we were buds. We all were. I remember Barry's infectious, whole-body laugh, his passion and his warmth. The world was a better place with Barry Pessin in it.  So very stunned and sorry for your loss, Carol.

Carol, so sorry for your loss. Although Barry and I only spoke infrequently, I have very fond thoughts of working with him as kids working for Uncle Abe and "Mr. Pessin". Barry in the office, me in the warehouse. Interesting times back then. All the best to you and your family.

Dear Carol and Family,

I feel so privileged to have been an employee of Barry's for the last 5 1/2 years.  I have been in the workforce for 30+ years as a nurse and was never treated better by any boss than I was with Barry and his team of Shirley and Denise.  He made it a work family and not just a place to work.  He will be missed and cannot be replaced.

I lost a great friend and wonderful boss for over 35 years .He was a great man.I know he made his family proud. Connie Sutberry
