Betty was my aunt, my neighbor and my friend.  From childhood on, she always made me feel special and loved.  Few people hold such a dear spot in my heart and I will always be thankful for the time I had with her.  I remember as a small child she would pay me a nickel to clean the legs of her kitchen chairs and rave at how shiny I made them.  Her house was the hub when all of our aunts, uncles and cousins would visit from Fort Wayne, Troy and St. Charles.  They were some of my favorite childhood memories!  She had a heart of gold and is probably loving every minute of shopping at the great "Feed my People" in the sky!

“My” Aunt Betty was like a second mom – the one I would run to when my mom and Aunt Fran were not there.  She always had a smile for me, a compliment, love!  I have always liked her as a person, loved her as an aunt, and admired who she was.  She was so intelligent, loyal, a hard worker, loving, I don't remember her ever not being happy and showing enthusiasm for what she was doing.  She always had such a happy disposition, and I have always enjoyed being a part of my mom's and Betty's  adventures whenever I could.   Betty was one special lady who was and is loved a lot!!!   What a reception she has been enjoying past couple weeks!!  Uncle Tom and all her other friends and family who passed are rejoicing!

I have been very happy to have so many memories with her.  I am grateful I got to spend New Year's with her this past year, and give her a hug on Friday before she passed.  I will miss her as my friend and companion.  I always enjoyed Betty's company.  She was a wonderful person, and I will always love and miss her.   Marie (Mutz) Strobel

I was very sad to hear about her passing. Aunt Betty was a huge part of my childhood, especially when we took trips to St. Louis. We would always stay at her house and loved every minute of it. She would always cook us a nice breakfast with Aunt Elaine. The bacon tasted soooo darn good. Well probably because it was cooked in lard. Also I do remember her giving me a large cow that was dressed as a cowboy, which now I find ironic. We backed it in the back of the previa and hauled it back to Fort Wayne. It had an odd smell but it was from my Aunt Betty, so it was priceless. I will sure miss her.

I remember when I was a kid visiting Aunt Betty and Aunt Elaine in St. Louis. Some of the best times in my life were had there. I specifically remember her always cooking up a bunch of great bacon in the morning for breakfast, of course it was cooked in lard. Also she gave me this great big stuff cow that was dressed in cowboy attire. I now know that that's quite ironic. She will be missed.

I never thought about the day when one of my fondest memories of visits to Carrington Lane in Lemay MO to see my Aunts and Uncles and Cousins would come to an end. Those experiences were so unique that I was even able to impart them on my wife and children with similar emotion. Not because of me, but how special my relatives and that location were. Aunt Betty's house was the center of those visits and I'll certainly miss her there. Fortunately my St Louis area cousins and Aunts and Uncles will still keep us visiting.
