She graduated from high school in Brooklyn and began her college education there before her family moved to the state of Florida. Betty transferred and completed her education degree at the University of Florida, carrying forward a steady devotion to learning and purpose that would shape the years to come.
For many years, Betty worked as a social worker in the state of California, where she formed several dear friendships and offered her time and care in service to others. Her life reflected a quiet, enduring generosity—one expressed not only through her work, but also through her consistent support of meaningful charities, including donations to the Braille Institute of America, Jewish Federation of the Desert, and various animal-support charities.
Betty was also a devoted dog lover, finding simple joy and companionship in the presence of her pets Bear and Molly, who is now spoiled in her new home.
Betty is survived by her brother, David (Linda) Marcus, and her nieces, Michelle and Ronna Marcus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of her favorite charities.
Chapel service will be Sunday, August 16 at Berger Memorial Chapel with visitation at 11:30am, followed by Service at 12 noon. Interment following service will be at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
