Brian Allen Bursack, 65, of St. Louis Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. A deeply beloved father, brother, son and husband, he is survived by his parents Quinn and Bruce, his brother Brett, his wife Leslie of nearly 34 years, and his three daughters: Hannah (Dylan), Katie and Brynne.
Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on March 14, 1961, Brian graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science. After covering city hall for the Nashville Banner, working in cause marketing in Washington, D.C. and studying architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology, he ultimately spent 20 years at Centene Corporation in St. Louis building an esteemed career in information technology.
Brian immersed himself in many interests and hobbies including art, history, architecture, music, cooking, and running. He especially enjoyed hiking and being in nature, traveling, and making memories with his family. Brian had love and respect for all living things, and was a loving cat dad to Teddy and Louie. His commitment to his passions was profound and deeply inspiring to all those around him.
Drawn to its spiritualism and values, Brian found connection with Judaism later in life and converted at age 43. He was a dedicated member of Central Reform Congregation for many years and embodied the Jewish values of community, justice, and loving kindness every day of his life. Most of all, Brian lived by the belief of Tikkun Olam - making the world a better place - which he did through work with various charities supporting social justice and the environment.
Brian will forever be remembered for his kindness, empathy, thoughtfulness, integrity, and compassionate gentle nature. He made everyone around him feel seen and heard, and had a way of making all those around him feel at ease in his presence. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his loved ones, especially his wife and daughters who will cherish every wonderful happy memory with him. He was always the first to lend a hand and give a voice to those who needed it most, and his family will continue to carry those values forward.
