I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of my beloved father, Bruce Monroe Winslow, who left us on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on December 27, 1939, to the late Donald and Esther Winslow (nee Whiting), my father was a man of great strength, love, and dedication.
Bruce was a devoted husband to Mary Winslow (nee Mackanos) and a loving and devoted father to me, Marissa Winslow. He was also a cherished grandfather to Ainslee and Elena Stroup, and a dear brother to Bonnie (Robert) Emerson. He was predeceased by his siblings Sherry Forbes and Stuart Winslow. Bruce was a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
My father served his country with honor in the US Navy for 10 years, flying F-8 Crusaders and training other pilots during the Vietnam Conflict. After his time in the Navy, he continued his passion for flying with TWA, where he worked for 30 years and retired as a Captain of the MD-80.
Bruce had many interests and hobbies over the years, including sailing, exhibiting Morgan Horses, and spending time with his beloved pets. However, above all else, he prioritized his family, always putting his "GIRLS" first.
Visitation for Bruce will be held on July 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., Lemay, MO 63125.
Committal services will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce's name may be made to the St. Louis Humane Society.
My father's legacy of love, dedication, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
