

Burton J. Wilner died peacefully on December 23, 2018. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on September 3, 1929 and moved to Missouri to attend college. He graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with an accounting degree, and practiced in his own firm for over 50 years. He resided in Olivette before moving to Florida in 2016. He served as President of the Missouri Accountant's Association, President of the Humane Society Auxiliary of St. Louis, Treasurer of the Humane Society of St. Louis and Treasurer for the City of Olivette. He also served in the Air Force Reserves.
Burt was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Dorie, his sister, Mildred Freedman and nephew Ricky Bain. He is survived by his two sons Jeffrey (Patricia) and Keith Wilner; granddaughters Amy (Chuck) Beno and Tracy (Joel) Eckert; great grandchildren John, Joshua and Jacob Beno and Anna and Isaiah Eckert; nephews Steve and Mike Bain and Lewis, Irving and Paul Freedman.
Burt's first love was Dorie followed by animals, big band music, and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. He was often seen outside local grocery stores with his beloved golden retrievers collecting donations for the St. Louis Humane Society.
Visitation Sunday, December 30th 10:30 AM at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Blvd, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment B’nai Amoona Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Burt's name to the Humane Society of Missouri or the National Kidney Foundation.
