Carol Ann Carinci, age 80, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1943 to Louis A. Bamsey and Ellen A. Bamsey in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended West Waterloo High School, graduating in 1961. She went on to the University of Iowa, where she obtained a Masters Degree in Spanish, studied abroad, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Following college, Carol became a Spanish teacher, first at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, and later at Horton Watkins High School in Ladue, MO, where she taught for 35 years.
Carol met her husband, Jerry, while attending the University of Iowa, and they were married in 1968. They loved to travel and made numerous trips around the world.
Carol will be remembered by her family and friends as a kind, caring, generous person who placed the needs of others first. She was always available to offer encouragement, wisdom, and perspective, and she was a blessing in the lives of many who knew her. Her endearing friendships helped sustain her during challenging times.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her brother, Bob (Nancy) Bamsey of Waterloo, Iowa, a sister-in-law Patricia (Joe) Herbulock of New Zealand, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for 11:00 a.m, October 27 at Kriegshauser Mortuary and Chapel West, 9450 Olive Blvd, Olivette, MO. There will be a brief gathering of friends and family at 10:30 preceding the service.
