Friday, May 10, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, surrounded by his family.
Chuck was born August 4, 1948, in St. Louis, MO, the son of the late Walter & Anna David. He was raised in St. Louis, MO & was a graduate of O’Fallon Technical High School.
He was drafted & served active duty in the United States Military from 1968 to 1970. During his time in Vietnam, he was wounded and bit by a venomous snake, but he did not let his injuries define his character.
He later spent many years being a mail carrier and enjoyed every minute of it. The stories this man could tell were priceless and he never knew a stranger. He was an honorable man to say the least and did everything he could to help his friends and family.
Chuck was an avid motorcycle fan & managed to hit 48 states on his beloved Honda Goldwing. Many of which his late friend, Joyce Stroup, was a part of. They were two peas in a pod and spent many years traveling, spending time with family & friends, and enjoying each other’s company. He loved being at the back of a motorcycle pack to keep everyone in line and keep everyone safe. In the last few years, he started taking motorcycle rides with his grandson, Kyle, and there was nothing that made him happier. He bragged about this to all his friends and never let his love go unnoticed.
Chuck is survived by his son – Jeffrey (Sharon) David of Benld, IL; his grandsons, Kyle (Mallory) David of New Douglas, IL & Tyler Isbell of Staunton, IL; his sister, Sandra (Hank) Steiger of St. Louis, MO; & his nephew – David Steiger of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents – Walter & Anna David & his best friend – Joyce Stroup.
