Charles was a proud, life-long member of the VFW Post 7980 in Millstadt, Ill.

The funeral from Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 9:30 AM to St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church for a celebration of Mass at 10:00 AM. The interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation: Tuesday, May 24 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
