Constance D. Harge, lovingly known as “Connie,” passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Saint Louis, Missouri, at the age of 71.
Connie was born on September 6, 1954, and was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Smith Jr. and Norma J. Smith; her grandson, Casey Redmond; and her sisters, Leanna J. Mack, Carla, and Wanda.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, William Harge; daughter, Candace Love; son, Brennan (Helen); grandchildren, Kristopher, Justyce, Katrina, and Helenia; great-grandchildren, Sonya, Casey, and Nubia; siblings Nelson Smith, Derrick (Becky) Smith, Diana Smith, Kimmy Smith, Dazella Phelps, John Jefferson, William Wade, Jacqueline Leonard, Cynthia Saylor, Dominique Laughinghouse, and Andre McFadden; son-in-law Clyde Love; special friends Sharon Pace and Sylvia Weeks; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Connie graduated from Hazelwood Central High School and later attended Hope Church. She dedicated much of her life to serving her community. Connie proudly served on the Ferguson-Florissant School Board, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, belonged to Girls Getta Grip Gun Club, served as Treasurer of the Ferguson Township Democratic Club, and was also a dedicated Girl Scout Leader.
Connie retired from Washington University in St. Louis, where she worked faithfully as a Precertification Specialist.
Affectionately known as “Mema” by her grandchildren, Connie will always be remembered for her warmth, strength, and vibrant personality. She loved to travel, enjoyed going out to eat and trying new things, was a devoted football fan whose favorite team was the Rams, and cherished spending time with family and friends.
Connie’s beautiful spirit, generosity, and love for others will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132, US, on May 21, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on May 21, 2026, at 11:00 am, with burial at St Peter's Cemetery, 2101 Lucas and Hunt Rd, St. Louis, MO 63121.
