Drunken dances,
Shuffleboard at Pooh's.

On a porch

You left me
With just the memories of youth.

Dan was a wonderful friend during our political science and "Greek" days at St. Louis University.  This is indeed sad news.  My condolences to all who knew him.

It was a honor to work for Mr. Gruen as a member of the Charleston Police Department, God speed to his families and love ones. Harry James Blacher and Family, Cordova Tenn.

Dan was a true professional, a good and honest man.  I very much enjoyed working with him while he was in both Bowling Green and Charleston and feel very fortunate to have met him personally. A great person and friend to all who knew Dan.  So sorry Deb, remember all the love and wonderful times that you shared together!  You and Dan's family are in our prayers.

I worked closely with Dan while serving as police chief for the City of Bowling Green. He was what I refer to as a regular guy and was a pleasure to work with. Dan knew what I meant when I described someone as a regular guy.

Dan will be sorely missed by all and I will have a mass said in Dan's name at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Brentwood, MO.

My sincere condolences to all of Dan's family members and his fiancee, Debbie Pederson.
