David is survived by his dear friend and ex-wife, Jane Cohn Horwitz; beloved father of Aaron Horwitz, Zachary Horwitz of New York City and Rachel (Domenic) Nighelli of St. Louis; dear "Grandpa Dave" to Zia Horwitz of New York City.
David graduated from Ladue High School and later the University of Missouri with degrees in Journalism and Law. He was a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity.
Mr. Horwitz was a practising attorney in St. Louis County for over 30 years.
Private graveside services were held in United Hebrew Cemetery.
