Condolences to David’s friends and family. I knew him as an excellent attorney. He was very competent and highly thought of in the legal community. His was a life well lived.

I miss you, David. I miss you and Uma every day. Thank you for being so good to my Mom - she looked forward to your visits, and loved watching Jeopardy with you. Wish I could go back in time and visit those days in the Westport office. You never let anyone - whether a client, opposing attorney, or judge - give you any crap. Thank you for being my friend and for being such a great part of my memories. Oh man… the Super Bowl parties on San Bonita!!

David and I were in law school together. He was a dear friend and over the years we kept in contact with one another.  Please accept my sincerest thoughts and prayers. Gary Oxenhandler.

I met and knew David through my sister, Jane Lynch.  He would come by our mom’s house to visit Jane and mom,  and always brought her a sweet treat.  Our mom loved and looked forward to his and Uma’s visits.  He also attended some of our family gatherings over the years.  David was a very kind person, who had a beautiful smile.  He loved animals, and they loved him.  I will miss seeing him, and listening to his and Janes stories.  Rest In Peace David - you will be greatly missed.  

So extremely devastated to have missed his funeral. 😭😭😭😭😭 It was all so quick. 

David and Uma at the office where where we worked together for many years. David was not just my boss, he was my family - we talked about anything and everything, walked Uma all over downtown St. Louis and Clayton, and discovered new restaurants for lunch ( which was both his and Uma’s favorite part of the day). After he retired, he and Uma would often stop by my Mom’s house to visit her and Gizzy (and later, her and Sadie) always bringing Jilly’s cupcakes or a Trader Joe’s cheesecake, and they would have coffee and talk and then watch Jeopardy together while the dogs played. My Mom adored David and said she would adopt him. He said more than once that I was like the sister he never had. Most of my best memories involve him: Super Bowl parties, his antics in Judge Schermer’s courtroom, listening to him help and counsel clients. And I, too, can still hear the echo of the sound of the lid of the glass candy jar that Deb kept on her desk full of chocolate for him. I really miss David. I love you, David. Give Uma, Maggie, Callie, Schmutznick and Charlie big hugs from Aunt Jane. And say “Hey,” to Rick from me. Thank you for being one of the best people I’ve ever met. 😭❤️😭

Here is David looking sharp in front of the Shell  Building where we first got to know each other.  He was a dear friend and colleague and was always there to lend me advice,  legal or otherwise.  Many times,  when I would be walking down the hall to my office, I could hear the sound of the crystal lid of the candy jar on  my desk being lifted and I  knew it was David stopping by for some chocolate, one of his weaknesses.  His other weakness was pretty women and he was somehow always able to spot them, even from quite a distance, when we would be out and about.  David was a true friend and I will certainly miss him and all the good times we had together.
