He was the cherished son of Kim and Roger Reiter; Grandson of E.G. and Ruth Smith, Joyce David and Jerry Neal; Godson to Mike Rios and Melissa Smith and the brother of Dan and Ana Reiter.
Derek was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. He was very close to many of his cousins. Derek never knew how special he really was, but we did. He was caring, smart, funny, always there for his family and friends. He was a Type 1 diabetic since age 5.
Derek was an avid car enthusiast, a dirt bike and motorcycle lover, a tattoo enthusiast, a cat lover, and loved going to the shooting range.
Derek touched so many lives in his 18 years. He will be greatly missed, but he will live on through his family and friends.
