D and I met about 40 years ago at Bell. We went through the joy of two births and the challenge of our divorces together, and that forever sealed our friendship. I’ve admired D as a single working mom who fiercely loves her children…as a powerful communicator, solopreneur, leader and author…and as a connector to so many peers. And I’ve loved her as a true, caring, delightful friend and a grace-filled woman of faith who introduced me to Christ. Oh how I will miss our talks—her intense focus, insights and wit. 

I read once that “nothing dies that is remembered.” May our shared stories (and amazing photos like the ones posted below) keep D close until we see her again.

I am at a loss for words Eric, Alexis and family. I truely gasped when I heard this sad news. As you know your Mom was a very special person and I have some wonderful memories of her and I working together at MQP. My prayers for all of you. Truely heartbroken! 

I am so saddened to hear of Diane's passing.  We worked together at Southwestern Bell and was lucky enough to become a friend.  I could always count on Diane for advice, encouragement, and a good hearty laugh.  Her soul and heart are pure.  She looked for good in people and difficult situations.  And she was tough and smart and kind.  She was a true Madonna - her children were her pride and passion.  I am better to have shared space in this world with Diane.  She made a difference and will be missed.

 

 Diane & I  were peers at YellowPgs years ago. She exuded the joy of the Lord at all times. Such a wonderful presence in our department. RIP

I became very heartbroken when I heard the news.  I knew Diane since I was good friends with Alexis in school. Going over to her house and getting into teenage trouble. She loved her kids and she loved her kids friends, you could tell. She went out of her way to make sure you were comfortable at her home.  I can close my eyes and still smell the house and hear her voice. May she rest in peace. 

Dee, My dear sister-in-law,  we trounced around Europe a bit in our twenties, our trip to Trier, Germany  will always Be a fond memory of singing, dancing and lots of wine and beer. 
   My dear Dee was  there to help  in every way necessary and always with kind and supportive words throughout my life’s journey. She was a strong woman and yet very soft and loving. I will miss you much, Dee. You are loved, indeed!


I was broken hearted when I heard the news of Diane’s  passing. She was such a dear friend and colleague — funny, talented, bright — and very loyal. I always knew she had my back and often brought out the best in me and others. Our friendship spanned more than 31 years, working at SW Bell and later for the Marianists. My life will never be the same. 

Eric and Alexis:I know she loved you to the moon and back.

Words cannot describe all the help Diane gave me during my years working at Colegio San Jose in Puerto Rico. I learned so much from her. Admired her strong will and character. She had the perfect answer on how to handle e-v-e-r-y situation. Sweet, helpful woman; always available and willing to help from the distance.   
I am sure that she is even closer to our Virgin Mary today, and will make sure from Heaven that all is well with her dear family, whom I know from our long talks on the phone. My prayers are for their peace at this moment. Diane is well.

I knew Diane from when she taught writing at Webster University some years ago. I was always struck by how dedicated she was to doing whatever she needed to in order to draw the best from her students. She certainly was a force; there is a clear void in the world because of her passing.

There will always be a little spot, a void, in my heart for my dear cousin Diane. She was one of the GG's (Guerra Girls) a collection of first cousins who wished to get together when possible. Many of us scattered far from our South Texas roots. We were close and stayed in touch  and at one point shared an adventure together in Ireland. I loved her and her kids dearly and will miss her so, so much. My husband, Rich, joins in my condolences to the entire Guerra clan in St. Louis and her friends who knew her for the extraordinary woman that she was. She had the famiy sardonic wit that was a shared family trait. Breathe freely, Sweetie! Love you!

Diane was an amazing woman and always kind to me many moons ago.  I've been lifelong friends with her sister, Kate.  My deepest condolences to the family.  You all are in my positive thoughts and prayers.

Diane was a grade school friend at St. Bart's.  I have good memories of her rendition of Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart when we were in speech league together. Just this past January I visited her at home and we talked about ways to get her book published--something I hope happens in the future.
She was smart, funny and insightful but left us far too soon.

Diane was one of my best friends growing up at St. Bartholomew school and parish. I was so happy to meet up with Diane again a few years ago at a little get together with some of our grade school classmates. I am so sad to hear of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her children and family.
