Limpert, Dorothy I. (nee Osburg) passed away at the age of 96 on March 25, 2020. Dorothy was married to Emil Limpert for 73 years, after meeting him in Kindergarten and being together from that day forth until his death in 2018.
Mrs. Limpert was born November 29, 1923, to Christ and Irene (nee Henny) Osburg. She grew up in St. Louis, and when she was little, she particularly loved visiting her grandma who lived in a houseboat on the Mississippi River.
Dorothy was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She and Emil raised a family which includes: the late Larry (Sandy) Limpert, Terry (the late Becky) Limpert, Kathy (Michael) Kaiser and Debby (Charles) Ruble; grandchildren Jason, Jonathan, Julie and Joshua Limpert, the late Christian and Gregory Limpert, Nicholas, Mathew and Alex Limpert, Corry, Kyle and Casey Kaiser, Amy Hawkey and Oliver Ruble; as well as great- and great-great grandchildren.
Raising her children and being a homemaker was the most fulfilling job she ever had. In her earlier years, Dorothy worked as a secretary at her father’s place of employment, Columbia Terminal. She was also an Executive Secretary at Coca-Cola and a cook at Hancock Jr. High School when her children became older. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school at Carondelet United Church of Christ.
Dorothy loved fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and playing the slot machines. She and Emil bowled, played pinochle and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning if they were on a streak at the gambling boat. She also enjoyed dancing the jitterbug, playing bingo, and volleyball. Dorothy was never happier than when she was around her family, children and numerous friends. Dorothy never met a stranger and truly enjoyed living her life to the fullest.
