Dorothy "Rusty" May Marlen 95 years of age of Cave Creek Arizona, and formerly of San Dimas, CA and Indianapolis IN passed away April 14 2026 at the Thompson Peak hospital in Scottsdale, AZ. She was the daughter of the late William Jackson and Doris Smith Jackson of Pueblo Colorado. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Eddie Grover Marlen, 1 son James E Marlen, and 2 beautiful daughter in laws Patricia Marlen and Joann Marlen.
To show her love for her country Dorothy enlisted and served in the Women’s Army Corps during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. After serving, she worked for Mid Indiana Corporation and Peerless Pump in Indianapolis.
She loved family and is survived by her son Roger E. Marlen of Dupo, Illinois and daughter Cindy (Wayne) Gasper of Scottsdale AZ. She will also be missed by 6 Grandchildren , 9 Great Grandchildren (with 1 on the way), and 1 Great Great granddaughter. In addition she has many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly..

SERVICES: Please meet by 9am Monday, May 4, 2026 at Sylvan Springs Park, corner of Boundary Ln. & Sheridan Rd. From there, we will process down Sheridan Rd to Jefferson Barracks for Interment with Military Honors at 9:30am.
Please do not gather separately at the cemetery office as no one will be checking for any attendees there.
