

Edgar A. Krattli, a beloved family member and friend, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the age of 99. Born on September 5, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the cherished son of Oscar P. and Louise H. Krattli (nee Gumper).
Edgar was the loving brother to the late Dan Krattli and Robert Krattli. Edgar and both his brothers were World War Il veterans. Edgar proudly served his country, enlisting in the US Navy.
He is survived by his nephew, Robert Paul Krattli, Jr., and his two sisters-in law, Kathy Krattli and Alicia Krattli.
Edgar received his bachelor's degree from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois and holds a master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois.
Edgar was a member of several community organizations. At age 36 he became the Executive Director of the Grosse Pointe Community Organization in Grosse Pointe, Michigan where he worked to gain larger community support for children's programs. While serving the community, Edgar helped develop a program of mental health services and instigated group work programs for children with special needs.
Edgar also touched many young lives as a social worker in Detroit Public Schools.
Edgar had a passion for ping pong, playing several times a week. He was a true people person, known for his ability to make friends easily. Edgar loved hosting social gatherings, whether it was for dinner or games, bringing joy and laughter to his friends.
As per Edgar's request, he will be cremated and interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. There will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Edgar will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
