Edith Margot Lettner of Saint Charles, MO, passed peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon surrounded by her loving family. Affectionately known as "Edie", she was born in south St. Louis on September 16, 1930 to the late Otto and Eugenia Behm. Edie was the beloved wife of the late Richard Albin Lettner. Dear mother of Steven Lettner, Karen Lettner, and Deborah (Jeffrey) Jackson. Dear sister to Frederick (Joann) Behm, Sr., the late William (Carolyn) Behm and James (Mary Ann) Behm. Cherished "Oma" to Michael (Jennifer) Lettner and great-grandmother to Lily, Nora, Emma, and Luke Lettner. Much loved by her nieces and nephews.
Edie enjoyed her family and loved gardening, baking cupcakes for her nephews, watching movies and reading books. Edie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School of 1948 and after making so many friends there, Edie met her classmates from Notre Dame for regular luncheons, mostly at O'Leary's restaurant in Sunset Hills. Edie loved spending time with her beloved grandson Michael Lettner and his family. Many of Edie's greatest joys were spending time in her home, surrounded by her family playing dominos and various card games.
Edie requested no services for her funeral, however in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
