Connie:  Please accept my deepest condolences.  I wasn't able to talk to you at the wake, but I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful human being I thought Ed was.  Always kind, friendly and good to the bottom of his heart.  I know he helped everyone in the family and did it with love.  I've known Ed all my life and you since high school.  I'm just so grateful we've had so many years to enjoy life.  We will all miss Ed and are so grateful to have had him in our life.  I know he's with your Mom and Dad and resting in the arms of God.  I loved your Mom so much; she was a BIG part of my life.  Keep happy in your memories of your life with Ed.  You are so fortunate to have so many happy memories of him.

I admired Uncle Ed more than anyone I have known.  I never saw him get angry or say anything unkind.  Just being around him taught me to be a better person. He was always there for us and did so much for us.  I am so grateful that I got to spend more time with him this past year.  I always looked forward to our weekly dinners with him and Aunt Connie.  I will treasure those times and I will miss him more than I can say.

You made the world a better place by always helping to lighten the load of everybody you met. Sometimes you did this simply by being such a fun person to be around and other times it was by your willingness to help out in any way you could when you knew a family member or friend could use a hand.

I learned a lot about how to be a more kind, caring and loving person by watching you. I'm going to keep trying to get better at this and, when all is said and done, I think that the highest compliment that anyone could ever pay me would be by saying that "He reminds me of his Uncle Ed".

I know how proud that you and Aunt Connie have always been of your sons, grandchildren, great granddaughters, and their families. After getting to know them even better over the last several weeks I can see why.

I'm going to miss you a lot but most of all I'm going to remember all of the great times I had with you. Thanks for everything you did for me and JoAnn.

I am very lucky to have had Uncle Ed in my life. I got to witness firsthand, his kindness, generosity, and warmth. He was a wonderful man, and I not only know this from personal experience, but also from stories I hear about all the truly selfless and kind things he did for his family. I am greatly saddened by his loss, but I am truly honored and blessed to have been a part of his life. I'll miss you Uncle Ed!

I worked with Ed for many years at AAA, where he ran the big printing press. I enjoyed talking to him about construction projects and getting his advice on home repair. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to laugh. He will be missed. I am glad to have known him.
