

He was born on April 6, 1941 to Edward Ignacious O'Brien and Gloria Florence O'Brien (nee Thornton). They proceeded him in death as did his beloved brother Buddy O'Brien and his sister, Gloria Jane Schuerman.
He is survived by his wife and constant companion of 45 years, Erma J. O'Brien. He is survived also by his sister, Frances Kay Emory (Dennis), sister-in-law, Sandy O'Brien, two nephews, Mike Schuerman, Jim McManus of Columbia, three nieces, Joy Schuerman, Christine McManus, and Leigh Schuerman. He has a child of his heart, his great-nephew, Josh Boschert, and is loved by all his great-nieces and nephews, two aunts, Bernice Markham and Loretta Hardt, two uncles Bernard O'Brien and Bill O'Brien and numerous cousins.
He was a life long resident of Frontenac, MO and attended Our Lady of Pillar School. He was in the Marines, was in Local 513 Union, partner and owner in many businesses and retired from the billboard business in 2008. He has been an avid motorycyclist, loved buying and selling old cars, a scuba diver and boater. For the past 20 plus years, he has spent his winters in the Keys. With his wife, he traveled extensively, including a worldwide trip in 1984. He dove the Red Sea and climbed the Great Wall of China and can be proud of friendships, both close and far.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 7 at Our Lady of the Pillar Church, 401 S. Lindbergh at 10:30 a.m. There will be no graveside services, as his wishes to be cremated will be honored, and he will rest forever, not only in hour herats, but at his most beloved spot.
