Edward Schaffer, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Beloved husband of 48 years of Sandra "Susie" (nee McIntyre) Schaffer; loving father of Dawn (Les) Martin, Tina Schaffer, Tim Schaffer, Sherri (Peter) Arena, Skip (Kellie) Turnbough, and Mick Turnbough; dear grandfather of Heather, Ian, Ryan, Joshua (Stephanie), Justin (Sarah), Jordan (Crystal), Kasey (Samantha), Caleb (Megan), Jessica, Koby (Grace), and Kade; great grandfather of Mariah, Peyton, Isabella, Jacob, Brayden, Olivia, Eliana, Emily, Ella, Elliott, Eden, Shawn, Jack, Lucas, Mason, Levi, and Waylon; dear brother of Claudia (Jerry) Spiniolas. He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Myrrl (nee Ashley) Schaffer and his brother and sister, Warren Schaffer and Faith Carty.
SERVICES: Visitation 10am until time of service at 12pm Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Hoffmeister South County Chapel 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125. Interment to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
