Elaine M. Zabel Schmidt

Born March 28, 1923, in Mt. Olive, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Catherine Zabel.

She married George O. Schmidt on May 6, 1950, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1996.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and James Nativi of Godfrey and Nancy and Scott Clayman of Chesterfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Brian Nativi of St. Charles, Mo., Jennifer Nativi of Chicago and Alayna Clayman of Chesterfield; two brothers, Leslie and Wilbert Zabel, both of St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis. Visitation also at 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracksview Rd., St. Louis, Mo.

Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
