Eleanor was lucky enough to travel the globe, but her favorite place to be was in Naples, Florida, where she spent half the year playing tennis and bridge and being with friends and family. She could not get enough of the beautiful sunsets over the Gulf. She was a great athlete who bowled and played power volleyball, as well as tennis until she was in her 80’s. She was a good cook and was famous for making delicious blintzes, as well as incredible plum cobbler and strudel using the damson plums that came from the tree in her yard on Oak Park Drive.
She lived a long, full life and was an example of strength, kindness and generosity. The true love of her life was her husband, Irving Brin who preceded her in death by many years, in 1978. Their household, with their 4 children in University City was always filled with young people coming and going with laughter and joy, with Eleanor as the main attraction, always with open arms and a big heart.
Visitation Tuesday, February 10th, 10:00 AM at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Blvd, followed by funeral service at 10:30 AM. Private family interment.
